Course Aims
To train delegates in the knowledge and skills of Adult Basic Life Support in
accordance with the guidelines published by the Resuscitation Council (UK)
Suitable For
Any person who may need to carry out basic resuscitation techniques on an
adult patient.
Course Length
2 ½ hours.
Pre-requisite
None.
Certification
All delegates will be awarded a Norvic certificate of attendance valid for 1
year.
Course Venue
Closed courses are held at training venues in Norwich or alternatively, courses can be arranged at your venue anywhere in the UK (subject to its suitability).
Syllabus
  • The importance of breathing
  • Initial assessment at the scene of an accident.
  • Assessing and opening a patients’ airway.

  • The recovery position.

Introduction to the ‘chain of survival’.


Assessing a patient for responsiveness.


Assessing for breathing.


Administering chest compressions.


The choking patient.
