Course Aims
To train and qualify delegates in the knowledge and skills required to deal with medical and trauma emergencies beyond the scope of basic first aid.
Suitable For
Any person who may have to deal with trauma and medical patients using techniques and equipment beyond the scope of basic first aid. The course is ideal for private ambulance service personnel, fire fighters, medical response teams, on-site company ambulance staff and first aiders who wish to extend their basic skills.

Pre-requisite

It is advisable to book your place no less than 6 weeks in advance to allow yourself enough time to complete the pre-course study. Delegates attending MUST be in possession of a current and valid First Aid at Work certificate or the equivalent first aid qualification. Additionally, precourse study (details below) is required by all delegates, who are strongly advised to prepare for the course well in advance. This study is based on the manual that will be sent to you.Further details on exact pre-course revision can be found on the Norvic web site (www.norvic.biz).

Certification
Successful delegates will be awarded:
  • An EMT certificate which is valid for 1 year and recognised by the European Association of EMT's and Paramedics for membership at EMT Defibrillation level.
  • An AED certificate which is valid for 1 year.
  • A Laryngeal Mask Airways® certificate from the LMA makers Intavent.
Course Venue
Closed courses are held at training venues in Norwich or alternatively, courses can be arranged at your venue anywhere in the UK (subject to its suitability).

  • BLS - Paediatric & during pregnancy
  • Pulse oximetry and manual blood pressure
  • Pain relief and Entonox administration
